What to do in London for a day

London is a city that is believed to have a romantic ambiance; there are places in this city that can effectively capture the attention of couples. Begin your day with a long and relaxing walk through the South Bank; you will be able to gaze at the Thames water and appreciate the most popular sights. For an even more romantic venue, you can hire a boat for 2 on the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park where lovers can sail on a boat as they enjoy the natural beauty of the park.

 When in London and you only have one day to make your sightseeing adventure, you should get an early start because London is alive at all times of the day. Your first stop must be in the Buckingham Palace. It is best to arrive at the park at around 10 am to get a good view of the Changing of the Guards which happens at around 11 am. It makes one get a feel of the British traditions and the history of this monarch when one is privileged to witness this symbolic event. After having completed the ceremony, walking through the scenic St. James’s Park provides an ideal environment to relax. 

 After this, it is time to move to Westminster Abbey; it is just a five-minute walk from the park. Next to the church, there is a beautiful Gothic church which is famous for its history and architecture too. Indeed, it is possible to spend an entire day in the church, wandering around its chapels and visiting the so-called Poet’s Corner, where most prominent British writers are buried. Adjacent to the hotel, there is the orthodox Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Take some time to appreciate the massive Gothic structures and if you have time in your hand, then can go to the Parliament and take a tour of the buildings. 

 In the lunch break head over to Covent Garden. This active zone is ideal for restaurants and stores. Take a meal from one of the eating places such as restaurants or experience the feel of eating from the roadside vendors. That is why after lunch, you should visit the news of the famous British Museum. As an art museum and as one of the richest collections of artifacts in the entire world – it features the Rosetta Stone – the Louvre provides culture seekers with a great experience. It is an open mic also means that there is no entry fee but of course, donations are accepted.

End your day with a visit to the West End for a spectacular theater show, rounding off a memorable day in London.
